Art isn’t just in museums…it's part of our everyday lives.

Lace up your walking shoes and explore public sculpture, fountains, and architecture on one of our walking tours.

The Decisions Artists Make

Explore aesthetic decision making in the marvelous atmosphere of the Academy whose iconic, colorful building was designed by Frank Furness and George W. Hewitt. Discuss how both architect and artist engage in the expressive process and how the selection of materials and color are instrumental in creating the viewing experience.

Montgomery Bar Association’s 2nd annual countywide art contest for Montgomery County residents (ages 55+) is officially underway. This year’s Courting Art contest will again ask local artists, professional or aspiring, to explore on paper or canvas, what it is that they love about Montgomery County. Artists may drop off their artwork, along with a submission application (available on our Entry Info page), from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, April 30th at the Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) Fine Arts Center in Blue Bell.

This May, let us open your eyes to the art that is all around you!  Celebrate spring with us by registering for one of our walking tours of Philadelphia or our guided tour of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

Classes begin this Wednesday!

Join us this April and explore the work of Wilmington artist Edward L. Loper, Sr. (1916 - 2011) whose visual ideas were inspired by the teachings of his instructor, Violette de Mazia.  This three-part course will take place at Hershey's Mill in West Chester, PA and the Biggs Museum in Dover, DE.
